Be a Sport....

I don't remember when did I last go to play a game. Not that I don't like sports but its just the evolution of human being ,when his preferences change faster than Paris Hilton's partner and moves on.I have not completely disconnected myself from the sports field but still try to get back to the game by dressing something sporty. And when i say sporty ,i am not at all talking about the sports jersey or those NBA vests, but stylish numbers inspired from various sports. The whole story is of  clubbing together your everyday pieces with sports inspired garments and Voila, you are ready for a day out in town and not in the sports field.

This trend is so big in A/W 13 and shall remain in front seats for some time to come. Leading men fashion  icons included these trends  in their collection and street style exhibited a big evidence this year everywhere. Here,i do my own take on the sports inspired looks for this season,or perhaps any season.

The Sweat pants is a must have for everyone ,if you don't have it already in your wardrobe. These slim and cuffed sweat pants are not only fit for your gym sessions when you  are flexing some muscles but are appropriate for your evening pub binges ,when you sipping on some old fashioned. The hint to take here is keep it fab by wearing it on with something which is casual and stylish.Never ,ever in the love of god ,wear two pieces of sports inspired clothing, not if you don't want to look like a sports coach.

I wear my pants with a blazer and the scarf to add some extra flavor and to make the sporty piece look more of a dressy affair. The Nike trainers are to add the rebellious tone to the whole rig and i believe its doing its task very well .

Go get your sweatpants and take them to the town, take them to the pub and take it wherever you want.

PS: Confirm with the dress code at your office before taking this to your work desk. haha.

If you work in a young and creative atmosphere, like me you can wear the sporty jacket with your usual Tie and slim pants and can rock your work place. The Americans have been doing this rig for a long time now,but since the revival of the whole ''sports gone casual '' thing ,this look has again resurfaced and how.

I have had this jacket for quite a while now but still could not convince myself to dump it.I club it with a slim pants and a knit tie and am good to go to my desk. The jacket was originally bought to be worn during my jogging sessions ,which rarely happened but the jacket has traveled places since then. The tie again is to satisfy the office code but the sock less shoe is to satisfy my urge to be a style rebel.

The two ultra fabulous world of sports and style are getting together and its heading for some good times where both the worlds are winner. It has already started to a big style wave from this season and designers have used it to churn out some really stylish garments. Its time we hop on this bandwagon ,it seems like its worth one.

I shall leave you on a sporty note with the song of the day.

Let me know what you feel in the comments.

A fine Day to ''Fall''

There are men who like Summers and then there are men who like Fall/Autumn.There are also a clan of men who think winters are the best time around(depending upon the hemisphere of the Earth they are from).I am definitely a bloke who would love to dress while its Autumn and before it gets to cold when you are obliged to dress if you going for an Arctic exploration!!The Sun has finally gone for a junket and now is the time to pull out those lovely pea-coats and the chunky jumpers you have been missing when the sun was still making its hay.Autumn's has its own color palette and two of the most interesting colors for Fall/Autumn of 2013 is Orange and grey among-st a few many.

This grey Pea coat keeps the style game at its peak without making you look bulky. The proportions are slim and are perfect when winds are being haywire.Layer it with a cotton pullover or a cardigan and you have your own temperature control while you are sipping on that hot cuppa indoors.

The best thing with Pea coat is that its still not a blazer nor its a top coat ,but is juxtaposed between them and is something you should consider buying for effortless style this AW.This number in grey is the best color for the autumn and the mixed wool fabric is your pukka bet for this season.

The second autumn color I am eulogizing (well closely) is Orange. Its so apt for this season and will spice up the dull monotone.Get some pieces for your wardrobe be it pants, jumper or even a pocket square if you lack that bravura of carrying it and just want a small fleck of it.

The Orange-ish pants are adding the flavors and the cotton jumper with the scarf is doing the mercury check .This color will inject some fresh wow factor and the cord material of the pants will help keep you warm.

I chucked the scarf and slipped a padded gillet in the picture above. These pants are heavy duty and I don't have them too slim .The gillet on the jumper on the T shirt is a very much ''runaway'' look and the whole rig was done by likes of Michael bastian this AW season.Go ahead and grab one of your gillets or padded jackets and let it sit on top of your shirts or jumpers.Rule of thumb:keep the layering slim and not too fluffy as you don't want to carry weight of extra clothing.

While walking out ,I realized my jacket has a breast pocket and snugged one of my pocket kerchiefs. Do that at your own risk and only if your jacket or the whole rig allows for a silken cloth in the top pocket.

Do let me know in the comments if your views and if you want to discuss something.

I shall leave you with song of the day.
